Open Adobe Reader and go to Edit => Preferences.
In the "Internet" Category uncheck "Display in PDF browser".

For each file type that you want to auto-open with 1 click, rather than first down loading and then being asked to open, save or cancel every time, you need to select the always open this file type option for the browser you are using.

Internet Explorer: Open a non-Mereus mail in Outlook which has the file type to auto-open included as a standard attachment. Open the attachment from the mail. In the resulting Outlook "Open, Save, Cancel" dialogue box uncheck "Always ask before opening this type of file". NB If this option is greyed out then you may need to do this with administrator priviledges.

Google Chrome: Click on a Mereus mail URL to the file type you want to auto-open and download it. In the Chrome downloads bar that appears, select "Always open this file type" from the drop down list for the document you have just downloaded.

Mozilla Firefox: Click on a Mereus mail URL to the file type you want to auto-open and download it. In the resulting Firefox "Open, Save, Cancel" dialogue box select "Open with" and check "Do this automatically for files like this from now on."
